Scrappiness and impact were valued life skills in my household growing up. From volunteering at local homeless shelters under the blistering Arizona sun to building a medical record system for a disaster-stricken Haiti from scratch, I developed a strong desire to seek out ways to serve those in need early on.
 
Originally, I set out for a career in medicine, training to have a tangible impact on the lives of those without access to proper care. But software’s ability to make an impact at scale fascinated me and lured me into the world of tech investing.
