Software and technology have always been passions of mine. This love led me to MIT, where I graduated with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering with a concentration in product design and a minor in Management Science. My first jobs and internships were in tech and engineering — I cut my teeth working with turbochargers at Cummins and the Windows Team at Microsoft.
From there, I wanted to learn what it meant to build a company and run a business. This led me to McKinsey & Company’s New York office to learn how some of the biggest and most successful businesses in the world operate. My time there was focused mainly on growth and transaction strategy, advising clients across various industries.
I came to Insight because I wanted to spend more time with ScaleUp businesses that are changing the world through the lens of technology. I originally started out on our Onsite team, where I worked closely with portfolio executives on GTM strategy, product strategy, and M&A. I then made the leap to our investment team to focus on investments in infrastructure and IT software, developer tooling, and cybersecurity. These companies build the backbone of how all businesses and individuals work and live, which is an exciting thing to watch and be a part of. I’m constantly inspired by the CEOs and teams I have the privilege of working with – through ups and downs, building new platforms, teams, go-to-market motions, and expanding to new geographies.
In addition to my work on the investment team, I help lead Vision Capital 2020, Insight’s fund of funds investing in emerging underrepresented managers. So far, we’ve backed more than 20 new venture capital firms, all of whom have GPs that bring unique perspectives and points of view to this industry.
I am originally from the Netherlands and also spent some time living in the UK before heading to Boston. Beyond work, I love skiing, solidcore, watching crime TV shows, and traveling.
