Q. Why a Video Cover Letter
A. We use technology and data in everything we do. This short, self-recorded video cover letter is an opportunity for us to learn more about you. You will be asked a total of 3 questions. After each question, you will be given time to think and then to respond. We recommend you complete this as soon as possible. Please note, we do not offer practice rounds so please be sure to follow the below best practices prior to completing the video.
Video Cover Letter Best Practices:
- In order to participate, you will need a smartphone, tablet, or a webcam with a microphone and high-speed internet access
- Choose somewhere quiet with good internet connection
- Test your webcam and microphone
- Make sure the area is well-lit and you can clearly be seen
- Preferred browsers are Chrome, Firefox, or Safari (latest version)
- Prior to completing the video cover letter, reflect on why you are applying, your previous experiences, and come up with specific examples you can speak to in an engaging way
Q. Will I be asked technical questions during the video cover letter portion of the application?

Q. Can I apply to the Investment Analyst Program and the Onsite Analyst Program?

A. You can submit updated materials at any point in the application process by emailing the recruiting mailbox and attaching them as a PDF with the subject line: Updated Resume or Transcript.

Q. How do we determine what vertical & check size interns focus on during their summer internship?
A. Insight is broadly focused on software and internet companies from Series A to pre-IPO. That’s a huge range, so during the internship, you can cover a large variety of companies across different industries and stages. Certain teams have a slightly different focus area depending on stage or vertical, but most teams work across all of them, so similarly, interns’ source across each category. Throughout the internship, summer analysts can find potential focus areas across software and internet to develop a market expertise.
Q. What is the current timeline for the 2026 Summer Investment Analyst Program?
A. We review completed applications on a rolling basis with our first Superday taking place in January. We will then host one to two Superdays a month thereafter until our class is full. If you have not been selected for a Superday and have not received a communication letting you know whether your application has been rejected, you are still being considered.
Q. What is the current timeline for the 2026 Full-Time Investment Analyst Program and the Onsite DGS Analyst Program?
A. Our 2025 Investment Summer Analyst Program is our primary pipeline for our 2026 Full Time Investment Program. We will begin reviewing completed applications for the Onsite DGS & Investment Analyst Programs in the summer with Superdays taking place end of summer through early fall.
Questions?
Please reach out to recruiting@insightpartners.com for assistance.
I stumbled into Insight as a summer analyst. I joined with no expectation of being here more than a summer. I had a hope to potentially be here longer, but even if I joined full-time, I had no expectation of being here more than the two-year analyst period. Here we are nearly 20 years later, and I bleed Insight orange and couldn’t be prouder of what we built together over the years.Ryan Hinkle
