ScaleUp:AI

Revolutionizing workflow automation with low-code and no-code solutions

Insight Partners | January 09, 2025| 2 min. read

This session explored advancements in AI and no-code platforms, how to empower employees as agents of digital transformation, and how to make the most of current AI technology for productivity.

These insights came from our ScaleUp:AI event in November 2024, an industry-leading global conference that features topics across technologies and industries. Watch the full session below:

Key speakers

Key takeaways

  1. AI simplifies complex problem-solving by enabling humans to focus on high-value challenges.
  2. No-code tools empower innovation by allowing users to create impactful solutions independently.
  3. Vendor-agnostic platforms enhance flexibility by integrating foundational models with proprietary data.
  4. AI integration improves productivity through predictive insights and reimagined workflows.

“We look at AI as helping humans focus on solving the most complex problems”

Krohn opened the session by highlighting how the intersection of accessible AI tools — specifically low-code and no-code tools — and industry demand is creating a significant inflection point for enterprises. Enterprises want to onboard AI but are unsure what will lead to the highest ROI.

Gidwani and Daliry pointed to individual contributions.

Gidwani remarked, “We look at AI as helping humans focus on solving the most complex problems,” highlighting its role in enhancing human ingenuity. Daliry agreed with this perspective, stating, “We believe that we can drive transformation in business by giving the power to those closest to the problem,” underscoring the value of empowering individuals to innovate.

Redefining productivity and innovation

One of the central themes was AI’s ability to automate mundane tasks while enabling human workers to focus on high-value, creative contributions. Daliry highlighted how empowering business users with no-code tools can drive transformations:

“When we see an HR analyst building a workflow and creating a really valuable asset into their department, we really see them as an entrepreneur getting the power to drive transformation for their organization.”

Gidwani offered a few concrete examples of how AI can enhance efficiency: onboarding, accelerated testing, and communication.

“When you’re building any application, you need to be able to communicate what you’ve built because, at the end of the day, who are you building the applications for?” Gidwani explained. “Business users need to be able to understand what you’ve built, what’s coming in the release. With all the data in the system, you can accelerate that.”

Building vendor-agnostic platforms

The panel also discussed how organizations can build vendor-agnostic AI platforms to boost productivity at an individual level and beyond. Daliry explained, “The magic comes from combining some foundational models with general knowledge with proprietary data. So [by being vendor agnostic], we provide the ability for the user to select multiple foundation models..to work with a Cohere model or an Open AI model…or add a tool on top of it.”

In that same vein, the panelists discussed how integrating these platforms can take different forms. For example, Gidwani pointed out how changes in management can be a hurdle to overcome. “How do you integrate AI into the existing business processes and tools?” he asked. But, even further, “How do you prompt the user?” By flipping the script, Gidwani explained, AI can help users continue to focus on the right actions.

Daliry focused on moving beyond user actions as triggers. “It’s not only about going to where the user is, but sometimes, predicting what the user wants.”

Reshaping how we work

Another focal point was AI’s role in reshaping the labor market. Gidwani noted, “Automation will inevitably replace some jobs, but it will also create opportunities we can’t yet imagine.”

Daliry shared a similar perspective: “Now, we have people creating agents without even knowing they’re creating agents.” At Pipefy, users are creating PTO agents, reimbursement agents, and agents for compliance teams.
